On October 18 One Ocean Foundation participated in the Sustainable Ocean Summit in Barcelona, the international ocean business event to provide a synthesis of status and trends in ocean economic activity. Jan Pachner, OOF’s Secretary General, took part in the Ocean 30x30 panel and presented the Ocean Disclosure Initiative, the first system of standard guidelines and metrics (KPIs) developed by OOF and its partners fully dedicated to supporting companies in becoming aware of their direct and indirect pressures on marine ecosystems.
The roundtable Ocean 30x30 was chaired by Rafael Sarda’, member of One Ocean Foundation’s scientific committee and explored how business and financial community can collaborate with government, NGOs and the scientific community to restore and protect 30% of the Ocean and its Biodiversity by 2030.
The Sustainable Ocean Summit is a global, multi-industry event annually organized by the World Ocean Council for the business and investment community with a focus on ocean sustainable development. The 2022 edition focused on the theme of Ocean-Climate-Biodiversity: Synergies and Solutions for Ocean Sustainability.
