One Ocean Foundation is pleased to announce a new collaboration with ZEITGEIST19 to launch a podcast series “As above, so below” dedicated to the wonders of the ocean and the urgent need for its preservation. This groundbreaking initiative will focus on marine conservation, exploring the rich biodiversity of ocean ecosystems, the crucial importance of sustainable blue economies, and the unique opportunity we have to restore balance to our planet’s ecosystems.
With the scientific support of One Ocean Foundation, the project will highlight large-scale innovative solutions at the forefront of ocean protection. Covering more than 70% of the Earth’s surface, oceans play a vital role in regulating the global climate, supporting millions of species, and providing livelihoods for billions of people. This collaboration seeks to raise awareness of the importance of protecting these invaluable resources and foster a deeper understanding of the challenges they face.
The launch of this podcast season took place during United Nations Climate Conference COP29.
“As above, so below” also aims to bridge science and culture, recognizing the ocean not only as a physical force but as a cultural cornerstone for many coastal communities. By showcasing both scientific insights, arts and cultural traditions, One Ocean Foundation and ZEITGEIST19 hope to inspire action and promote concrete solutions for ocean conservation, paving the way toward a more sustainable future.
The project will feature conversations with leading experts and ocean advocates, who will bring their expertise and passion for marine conservation, including Sylvia Earl – founder of Mission Blue, Carlos Duarte – Marine ecologist and professor at KAUST, Prince Hussain Aga Khan – Ocean photographer, Vincent Doumeizel – UN Ocean Advisor, Louie Psihoyos – Documentary film director and many other.
