On 19 and 20 August the ROCKWOOL Denmark SailGP took place in Copenhagen, the home event of the team of which One Ocean Foundation is the "Race for the Future" partner for the Impact League, a second leaderboard that runs alongside the Season Championship that tracks the actions and sustainable behaviors of the competing teams.
The Danish team took a very good third place finish in their home waters and, perhaps more importantly, gained second place in the provisional overall standings of the Impact League. As part of the collateral activities of the top sailing circuit, on August 18 we participated in a sustainability talk called Champions for Change. Conducted by British Sky Sports journalist David Garrido, the talk saw various experts linked to the world of sport and business alternate on stage : Senior Vice President, Group Marketing, Communications and Public Affairs ROCKWOOL and Jan Pachner, General Secretary of One Ocean Foundation.
While Mirella Vitale focused on the advantages in terms of sustainability of the use of rock wool in construction as a thermal insulator, Anne-Marie Rindom focused the collaboration with One Ocean Foundation:
Finally, Jan Pachner briefly introduced the main activities in which One Ocean Foundation is engaged, all based on a rigorous scientific approach. Two of the main objectives of the Foundation is to provide companies with data and validated tools to allow companies to transition towards a sutainable blue economy and secondly to raise awareness on ocean issues among the younger generations. "We don't want to take on their shoulders a responsibility that is ours - he said - but when these kids come home they talk to their parents and this can make adults aware that they are on a completely wrong path".
Finally, thanks to the support of ROCKWOOL, over 2700 guests of the Danish company received a hat and T-shirt with the One Ocean Foundation logo, contributing to the knowledge of our Foundation in Northern Europe.
