One Ocean Foundation is proud to announce its participation as a Supporting Partner at the 2024 World Seagrass Conference (WSC2024) & 15th International Seagrass Biology Workshop (ISBW15). This significant event will take place in Napoli, Italy, from June 17th to June 21st, 2024.

The theme of WSC2024 and ISBW15, "Seagrasses in the Anthropocene," addresses the pressing issue of seagrass ecosystems facing increasing human pressures both locally and globally. Environmental changes are transforming these ecosystems into new, unprecedented configurations, making it clear that returning to past states is no longer an option. The global challenge now is to establish a new baseline, protect, restore, and rehabilitate existing seagrass resources.

The conference aims to tackle key issues, including the extent of seagrass species' resilience to environmental changes, the mechanisms behind this resilience, actions needed to ensure the sustainability of seagrass ecosystems, methodologies that can be applied or further developed to maintain functional seagrass meadows, and how to effectively combine socio-economic, cultural, and management approaches with basic science.
The event will feature some of the most prominent international experts in the field, providing invaluable insights and fostering collaborative efforts to address these critical issues.
