Niccolò Banfi is an explorer and documentary storyteller focused on the world’s most remote places.
After a career in marketing, he turned to exploration, with a strong interest in island ecosystems and their environmental and social dynamics.
Through Remoteness – Eyes to the Edge, he documents some of the most isolated islands on Earth, shedding light on their natural landscapes and conservation challenges.
In 2022, he joined an expedition aboard a Dutch early 20th-century sailing vessel, crossing the South Atlantic from Ushuaia (Argentina) to Cape Town (South Africa). The journey took him through the Drake Passage, Antarctica, South Georgia, and Tristan da Cunha, covering 5,600 nautical miles in 52 days.
In 2024, he undertook a new expedition across the South Pacific, exploring Pitcairn, the Marquesas, the Society Islands, and Tonga, a 90-day journey spanning 6,500 nautical miles.
His work aims to promote awareness and conservation of the planet’s most remote and fragile environments through exploration and storytelling.
