On April 2nd 2022, on the occasion of the award ceremony of the “Primavera” Championship, organized by the Committee of the Clubs of the Gulf of La Spezia, the President of the Committee Giorgio Balestrero, the Mayor of La Spezia Pierluigi Peracchini and the Municipal Councilor Oscar Teja, signed the Charta Smeralda, renovating their commitment towards the respect and dissemination of the fundamental principles of the code of ethics for the protection of the ocean developed by the Scientific Committee of One Ocean Foundation.

With this symbolic gesture, the sailing Committee and the city of La Spezia promote the mission of the Foundation and mark the beginning of a series of concrete activities and projects to support the protection and preservation of the marine ecosystems.
