From Thursday 22 September to Tuesday 27 September One Ocean Foundation took part in the Genoa International Boat Show alongside the Italian Sailing Federation - of which it is Sustainability partner. The Foundation also participated in several activities of The Ocean Race "Genova The Grand Finale", underlining the common commitment towards the protection of the seas, to share the best practices concerning to ocean sustainability.
In particular, One Ocean Foundation intervened on Saturday 12 September at 12.00 noon at The Ocean Race lounge "Genova The Grand Finale" during the talk "Sustainable Event: Genoa's countdown to 2023", while on Monday 26 September at 3.00 pm, at Il Teatro del Mare, the event "Le voci del mare ascoltano l'oceano" (The voices of the sea listen to the ocean) took place, a project promoted by the Genoa City Council's Social Services Department with recreational and sports educational paths linked to the sea aimed at minors living in socially disadvantaged situations. Gaia Peretti, a member of the OOF team, presented the Foundation and its main activities to the public and then moved with the youngsters to The Ocean Race lounge for a short talk in which she explained in a simple and captivating way why the sea is a resource to be protected.
Finally, on the occasion of the presentation of the Settimana Velica Internazionale Accademia Navale e Città di Livorno held at the Teatro del Mare, One Ocean Foundation confirmed its traditional commitment with the Naval Academy Regatta, the RAN 630, which since the very first edition has supported and disseminated the Charta Smeralda code of ethics and the correct practices for respecting and protecting the sea to the competitors of this 600-mile offshore competition.
